The AGBU Buenos Aires Theater Group Named Krikor Satamian

BUENOS AIRES — The AGBU South America District has decided and named the Buenos Aires Theater Group Krikor Satamian in honor of the renowned actor/director Krikor Satamian who has served the Armenian and American Theater for over 50 years.

Satamian attended the London School of Film Technique and the Bristol Old Vic Theater School in London.

He served as artistic director of AGBU Vahram Papazian Theater Group and led the troupe to a tour of performances in Armenia, France, England, and Cyprus. In 1978 he came to the United States as the AGBU national artistic director. He started troupes in Boston, Detroit, New york, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles, where he is serving since 1988.

He has played several roles in American films and theater.

Satamian has been to South America several times and trained the theater group in Buenos Aires and in its honor the AGBU named the local troupe as the Krikor Satamian Theater Group.
