MISSION HILLS — Ararat Home’s annual membership meeting was highlighting with the donation of $222,500 handed to the Chairman Nazar Ashjian.
Sunday, March 13, in the afternoons, volunteers from the community including women’s guild chairmen from all over Southern California and from the Home’s Gift Shop presented the checks representing a year’s proceeds from fundraising events.
Board Chairman Nazar Ashjian, Jr. enthusiastically reported, “We have had another outstanding year. Everyone this year has done an exceptional job.”
Key administrators and managers of the Home told uplifting stories of residents and visitors to over 125 assembled members of the organization. Ararat’s award winning care to the elderly continues to be recognized by State and Federal oversight boards. Committee chairmen offered their reports, all of which were upbeat and optimistic about the Home’s future.
On-site expansion plans were explained by Building Committee Chairman Armen Hampar and Sobin-Harte architect, Bob Simonian.
Elections, expertly organized by Harold Mgrubian were held.
Given California’s budget woes, and the expectation of cutbacks in Medical payments, private fundraising by Ararat supporters has taken on an even more important role. Membership in Ararat Home of Los Angeles may be acquired by $25 per year fee, or a lifetime membership fee $500.
