PASADENA — Exceptionally enthusiastic guests in Pasadena easily raised just over $100,000 for the Armenian float which will be a first time in the history of New Year’s Day Rose Parade in Pasadena, on January 1st, 2015.
The fund raising was conducted by attorney Mark Geragos and Stepan Partamian. Chairman of the AARFA Chris Chahinian introduced the committee members and spoke about the float. A video also was shown.
The Rose Parade, held in Pasadena California, is watched in 130 countries around the world by billions of people. The Rose Parade story goes back to the 1880s.
There will be 45 floats this year showcasing “Inspiring Stories” of various nations and institutions. The American Armenian Rose Float Association, Inc. (AARFA) will showcase Armenian American contributions to the world. Armenian traditions will be showcased and Armenian culture’s uniqueness will be expressed to the world. Also, there will be renowned American representatives from political, social, athletic, and other spheres. A hard working committee is busy planning the details of the float.
